John J. Dobbins received the Martha and Artemis Joukowsky Distinguished Service Award from the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) at the annual meeting held in January 2023. Prof. Dobbins has been an AIA National Lecturer since 1982 and served as President of the AIA's Charlottesville Society for 37 years while teaching at UVa. The award recognizes his many years of dedication to AIA and to the field of archaeology.
