Congratulations to Caroline Carter, Fulbright Scholar!

Congratulations, Caroline!

It is our pleasure to share the exciting news that Caroline Carter has been awarded the Fulbright-IKY PhD Research Award this academic year for her dissertation on caves and religious practices in ancient Athens and Attica. The unique nature of the award enables Caroline to be affiliated with both the American School of Classical Studies at Athens and the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Athens. This is the first Mediterranean Archaeology at UVA to receive this prestigious award.

This summer Caroline is a trench supervisor overseeing excavations at the sanctuary of Pan for the Mt Lykaion Excavation and Survey Project.

Please join us in congratulating Caroline on this incredible achievement and in wishing her luck with her ongoing archaeological research!
